Senate Bill 707, March 30

I wish to use this entry to thank the 2007 Legislataure. Finally they, the Oregon Senate has come up with a good piece of legislature. This is one in which will expand the bottle bill for the first time since it was adopted in 1971. This was something in which is supported by 80 percent of the Oregon voters
From what I have read, it it will now be adding plastic water bottles as well as some aluminium cans.Sure it would add some additional headaches initially to the retailers and consumers, but this would eventually all pan out. For it will stop an estamated, according to the state Department of Environmental Quality, 125 million plastic bottles every year from turning into waste and litter.
The impact of this bill would immediately give the Dumpster Diver Index a spike. For the amount those "scrappers" can collect and cash in has increased. Allowing them to afford higher quality of shopping carts.
