It's the economy again

I have just gotten back from my morning cup of coffee. Today I read both the Portland Tribune and The Oregonian business sections with interest. Where a couple of reporters had written articles on how the economy is hurting again. Something that in my opinion is going to lead into another recession.
This was someting, even Mr. Greenpants, the guy whom headed the central bank system for 18-years, also agreed. This was something in which he did not admit, but I had to read between the lines. Something that he was well aware, but did not think it would have that big of an impact.
An example is poor Stockton CA. they have been named the foreclosure capital of the USA. A problem in which it effects 1 in 27 households. OUCH!!!! I just hope this prime lending situation does not effect Portland as bad.

There were other articles that we (the Reporting-Ethics Republicans) thought was very interesting. This one concerned the possibility of turning the Union Station in downtown Portland into a year round farmers market. This is something that would be very similar to the Pikes Peak Market up in Seattle.
But first there has to be a $40 + million dollar investment to get this accomplished. A figure in which would have to probably come from the private sector. For if I am correct and shortly after the Christmas season or new year we are headed into a recession. Then the city govern-ment will have no money to provide to this cause.
The same is the case for the HQ Hotel in near the Convention Center. The funds needed for this project will also have to be coming from the private sector.
But both of these projects definitely need to be happening. For the potential economic impact on our economy will be enormous. They alone would boost employment and increase tourism. Down the road, it would be very profitable for it to happen.
